Bloodkin

A group of fanatics in Freeport, led by a man named Martinus Volantis. They are somehow connected to the Cult of the Dragon. They have shaved heads and wear crimson and yellow. They have a distinctive fighting style, using paired scimitars.

The Bloodkin believe that magic was once a much more powerful force in the world. They cite evidence of ancient texts and common folklore that depict magical spells, objects, and creatures with vast capabilities unlike anything now known. Based on their vague timeline, they believe that magic was depleted some 6 to 10 thousand years ago, well before the founding of Caryadis, which they cite as the oldest living civilization.

Furthermore, they feel that magic can be restored to the world if they can find the key to understanding it.

The Cult is mostly concerned with gathering and studying magic, magical items, and magical phenomena.

Their purpose in Freeport was to capture and interrogate the Silk Lady to determine the nature of her seemingly limitless magical capabilities. They failed, and have departed Freeport.
