The Right Word at the Right Time

01.21.1562 Founder's Reckoning

Dinner at the Warry Traivlur Inn.

Leighton Deimaros (Princess Alysanne's brother) showed up with guards (two of whom searched the room; the others remained in the hall). Horace cast Empathy to read his intentions. He was driven by loyalty and was not duplicitous. He was favorable, yet wary towards them.

Sedgewick argues that, reward or not, the Deimaros family still owes them because they went far out of their way, at great personal difficulty, to Do The Right Thing

The party plans to meet him in the afternoon at his house the following day. He escorts Alysanne openly from the inn. Ali follows them to Leighton Manor.

Ali spotted two ruffians accosting a merchant. She distracted them and the merchant ran away. She stabbed one then did a magnificant flip over their heads.

Sedgewick cut one ruffian from neck to pelvis, spewing blood over the entire alley. Xandessa executed the second moments later.

The merchant's pouch had 50 silver marks and was monagrammed with the initials "SM" and a snake around a dagger^. The pouch was filled with rocks and tossed into the harbor to get rid of it.

The snake and dagger were either a general good luck/protective symbol, or his family/company crest.

The three crossbowman that shot at Horace were wearing black masks that were decorated in some way.

^ The Snake and Dagger were subsequently found to be the symbol of Lord Shaid's Witch-hunters.
