The group's continuity is retroactively altered to the new players and the Burning Wheel System.
The group begins trapped in the Fortress of the Hand in Freeport. The causeway is blocked and the town still smolders. After a few days, the causeway is cleared by a contingent of Kardian soldiers who are searching the re-ruined city for Princess Alysanne.
Eriola presents herself as their leader's fiance. Colonel Angus is skeptical, believing that she may have stolen Beauregard Abernathy III's ring. Nevertheless, he agrees to escort the party home to rejoin Abernathy. Abernathy has already been sent back to Kardia to "recover from his injuries".
They are split between 2 ships for the journey back to Kardia.
