Transmutation

Transmutation is the magical art that involves changing one thing into another. Unlike Generation magic, it cannot create something out of nothing, but it can certainly change the properties of something that already exists. Water into wine is a particular favorite of apprentices.

Transmutation is made up of three subschools, Animal, Vegetable, and Mineral. Though any single school can be learned, only full transmutationists can cast spells from all three schools, and use the few transmutation-specific spells.

As with all magics, there are many secrets that have been lost to the ages.
