Notes: Fate:1, Persona:4, Deeds:2
Mirri, partially due to her ability and partially due to her experiences, does not always seem to live entirely in the same world as the rest of the party. Her focus is entirely on the croata - from her point of view, the quest is to help the croata, not her, and the party is merely aiding in that. Though clearly they have some other odd agendas as well. It is hard to say what will happen to this world view should her quest succeed. There has been a recent crack in this world view - what about the other races besides the croata...possibly even the humans...who have suffered diminishing because of the cataclysm? Her dedication to her goal is even stronger, and she is now dedicated to Ysaeniver. Emerging from the desert has yanked her back into the regular world again to a degree, and she is re-centering herself based upon her prior experiences. The drive for her goal is still there, but she is resigned to the fact that it will take time.

Background

Mirrin was born in a city called Gorinderr in the principality of Isa'nere. Her family had been city guards for many generations, and Mirrin was proud to follow in her family's footsteps. Her sojourn as a city guard ended ignominously when, naively believing in equality before law, she pressed too hard into a noble's affairs and wound up dishonorably discharged. Disgusted, she turned to a life as a free booter, in particular guarding the caravans that made their way through the Sand Sea.

Prior to this time, Mirri had known of her peculiar ability to speak with beasts of burden, but kept it a closely guarded secret due to a dislike, though not outright persecution, of magic in her home principality. Upon coming to the desert, however, Mirri encountered the croata, who were far more intelligent than horses or other beast of burden she had come across. She was fascinated with their songs and their tales of once being dragons, and threw herself wholeheartedly into this new life.

Mirri's fortunes were once again destined to change, when she refused the intentions of one of the caravan masters. Charges were trumped up against her, and Mirri was to be sold into indenture. Her gift of tongues helped her convince a croata named Sirian to free her from her bonds, and they escaped into the desert. Mirri spent some time with the tribes of the Sand Sea, learning their language, and emerged again, now as a bandit. She directed her raids against the caravan owners she knew to be corrupt, and particularly against the one who run the indenture trade. Her notoriety grew in the area, and she soon commanded a decent sized bandit gang.

This notoriety reached the ears of her family back in Gorinderr and sent her furious older brother Corren on her trail with intent to drag her back before the law and force her to atone for these dishonorable dealings.

Mirri was betrayed by her second in command during a raid on a trading caravan, and left for dead in the desert. Sirian once again saved her by shielding her from the worst of the heat, and Mirri was picked up by another caravan containing a motley party of adventurers.
