Chancellor of Kardia. Kind of a dick.

The Lord title is used out of courtesy since he works in such a close capacity with the King. However, Hobson is not a part of any of the noble families, even the furthest branches. Most of the Barons and Counts consider him an upstart.

Possible elder (illegitimate) brother of Richard. Widower. Married into the Kardain family, has a seven year old son, Alphonse Kardain, who is currently the ward of Kamryn Lyros.

Engaged in a bid for power in Kardia, Hobson has been building a power base and undermining the King and current claimants to the throne. He claims to only want what is best for Kardia and compares the current state of the nation unfavorably to nations with sewers, such as Angland. His purported aim is to sit as regent until his son is old enough to rule.
