Croata

"A Croata (Croataphyte)"

A plumed riding lizard native to the SandSea.

The croata retain water, eat virtually anything, and occasionally when they have absorbed too much heat they cannot expel, vomit up a 'croata stone'. They sing, having stories and a mythology that refers to them as once being dragons. Their flesh and blood is poisonous to other creatures. They can sense (and often do not like) magic, and hate the bloodstone - perhaps because 'the blood of dragons' once fed it.
