Title

01.22.1562 Founder's Reckoning

Ali, Eriola, & Horace took a carriage to Leighton Manor at the planned time. Ali prepped with some spells as did Horace.

Eriola attempted to sneak knives into the meeting with Leighton Deimaros and 8 other high muckety mucks. She was caught and the King (similar build to Valiard) angrily said to Leighton "You vouched for these people!" Leighton looked surprised and replied "I vouch for the importance of their message, not their integrity."

Ali tried to intervene, but Horace interrupted her and pointed out she had brought it upon herself.

Eriola was dragged out, tied and whipped. She convinced the soldier to take it easy on her and was only lightly whipped.

Lord Shaid with dark hair and a widows peak spoke to the king in an almost insolent manner. He also had a magical ring with the symbol of the Witch-hunters on it.

Lord Valiard (Leighton's father) ran the proceedings. He is slightly shorter than average and stocky but not fat. We were asked to tell about Princess Alysanne's disappearance.

Lord Shaid asked if Alysanne still had the necklace and Ali replied no, it was destroyed in the battle.

Blond chubby (Lord Arum Reild, Minister of Foreign Affairs) man replies to Lord Shaid that other reports support our story.

Bald, pinched faced guy, Lord Veros, Minister of State. Sort of the Representative of the House of Lords.

Tall old white haired man with a noble bearing with prominantly displayed medals. He was the only person in the room other than guards that was armed. Lord Daltin who holds the rank of General is the Minister of War.

Rotund and red headed guy is Lord Salisbur, Minister of Supply. His job is to know how much different regions are producing and what they are producing.

Bent gnarled and grizzled man with proper dress is Lord Dorndain, Ministry of Commerce. In charge of taxes and other things.

We are dismissed temporarily. Lord Shaid and the King appear to be in opposition.

Leighton came out to give us the kings thanks. He gave us a pouch (?full of gold?) that has a coin with the kings likeness on it taht we are to present to one of his men to be taken to him immediately if we have any important information.

Lord Shaid is minister of Doctrine and represents the church's interest and the king is very devout and usually agrees with Shaide. The power of the church has grown under the king.

Leighton offered his help in any reasonable situation.

Lord Reild requested we meet with him.

Dragabin Scholars (who created the calander) have knowledge of curing magical maladies. Having their writings is grounds for ex-communication.

Valiard Deimaros is Minister of Police. Leighton is heir. The king has a son that he disowned. Reild changed the subject immediately after mentioning that. We suspect he was accused of witchcraft. He dislikes Shaid. They disagree on many many issues.

Reild is a devout believer in Ormryd and believes that suppressing information gives strength to the suppressed.

The captain returned to the ship with information that some of us were being sought by the law.

We took Reild's carriage to pick up Xandessa and Sedge then headed to Reild's. His manor is only lightly guarded and has been built piecemeal. It also has an observatory.

In his study is a book with the symbol of Ysaeniver which was on the back of one of the chairs.
