Eco-friendly tips

I've been looking for eco-friendly tips. If you have suggestions, send them to me.

General

• For some ideas in general about reducing the dangerous impact your (and my) life might have on this planet, take the Ecological footprint quiz.

Water

• Earth911.org has watersaving tips.
• Put the stopper in the tub during showers, let the water drain when it cools. This uses the heat from the shower water to heat the bathroom.
• Handwash dishes, instead of using the dishwasher.
• "if it's yellow, let it mellow / if it's brown, flush it down" for the toilet.

Waste

• "Reduce, Reuse, Recycle" - in that order.
• Here are some tips on recycling hard-to-recycle stuff.
• Set aside paper that has been used on one side only for re-use as scrap.
• Compost! see below.
