BANG!  The shot roared through the forest, from outta nowhere.  The nekkid
woman was suddenly a bloody, nekkid woman.  I turned and saw my Pa in his
nightshirt, holdin' Bessie, his trusty double-barreled shotgun.  He'd just
let the woman have it with both barrels and was startin' in to reload.

"You get yerself away from her, Jimmy," Pa hollered.  Then he put the
shotgun to his shoulder and took aim again.  I dove for cover, just as I
heard Pa scream, "Eat hot lead you transdimensional, cross-time hussy!"  He
fired both barrels again, and I saw the woman's torso just disappear.  Hands
flew off towards all points of the compass.  It was horrible.

"Jimmy," Pa yelled, "you get yerself back inta bed, ya hear!"

I did as my Pa said.  Not much point in hangin' around any longer anyway. 
And that, Joey, is how I almost got super powers.
