Character Generation:

Because of the limited time in a convention slot, collaborative character creation per the Spirit of the Century rules is not feasible. However, since the characters are all Elder Amberites with the serial numbers masking-taped over and relabeled in crayon, the party interconnections the method is meant to foster are already there.

So there's that.

Choice of Elder is first-come, first-served. Please provide the GM with your top three choices, with the pulp-universe spin you would like, and your role will be assigned. See characters from previous years below for examples. Younger versions of these characters are welcome in this year's game, regardless of whether you are a returning player or not. This is an entirely episodic game, so no knowledge of last year's scenario is expected.

If you would like to generate your own character, please note that all Star Patrol characters this year must have the Aspect Space Cadet, replacing the usual Star Patrol. It is expected that all characters this year will be college-age, whether or not they are actually cadets.

Tweaks and Whatnot:

• The Resources skill is not allowed. This is the gleaming Art Deco future. Only bad guys have money.
  
  
• If you would like the Mysteries skill, be aware of the flavor differences between the default setting and this one. Some abilites described in the basebook, such as fortune-telling, are not appropriate to the setting. In Nine Princes in Spaaace, Mysteries covers such things as telepathy and Atlantean super-science, though Science or Academics could also be used for the latter, and should be considered because of their wider applicability.
  
  
• All Star Patrol characters must take the Aspect Star Patrol.
  
  
• Be aware of and do not take Stunts that do not make sense for the setting: for example, the Athletics Stunt Equestrian.
  
  
• Drive Stunts may instead be taken as Pilot Stunts, where thematically appropriate.
